How to counter different formationsHello! Do you guys have any tips or guidelines on how you counter a formation that another team uses? For example, if a team would be using a 4-4-2 how would you use your team in a formation to "neutralize" it or counter it?
I find myself using a 4-2-3-1 formation and often go against 5-3-2 in the italian league and I usually instruct my players to go "wide" when I play against such formations. It usually works as my team plays more along the wings and less central exploiting their lack of presence on the wings.
What would be a counter to a 4-4-2? 4-2-3-1? 4-3-3? Or any general tips when trying to neutralize different formations?
