Lincoln City F.C.

Formed in 1884 as an amateur association, Lincoln turned professional in the 1891/92 season. Originally they played at the John O'Gaunts ground, however, in 1895 they moved to their current ground, Sincil Bank.

Their honours include 3 Division 3 (North) championships in 1931/32, 47/48 and 51/52, a Division 4 championship in 75/76 (when they were managed by future England manager Graham Taylor & broke the record for most points for a whole season when 2 points were awarded for a win with 74 points), and most recently they were Conference champions in the 1987/88 season. The year before the club had had the rather dubious distinction of becoming the first team in English history to be automatically relegated out of the league (prior to this teams only left the league due to failing to secure re-election, a rare occurrence). Their highest ever position achieved came in the 1901/02 season, where they reached 5th position in the English Division 2 (now known as the Championship).

The Lincolnshire derby, between Lincoln City and local rivals Boston United F.C, being played at Sincil Bank.Recently they have spent most of their time in the former Division 3 (now League Two) with one season spent in Division 2 (now League One) in the 1998/99 season. Their lowest point came in the summer of 2002 when they almost went out of business, only to be saved at the last minute. With the departure of manager Alan Buckley his assistant Keith Alexander was put in charge and given the task of keeping the team in the football league, he proved the many pundits and fans who believed that Lincoln would be relegated wrong. With a team made up of cheap ex-non-league players and the lower paid memembers of the previous seasons squad he managed to take them to the 2002-2003 play-off final which they lost 5-2 to Bournemouth. The team were rewarded with a civil reception in Lincoln, and an open-top bus ride through Lincoln, an event usually preserved for the winners of such competions, but was awarded to the team because of the massive achievement.

In 2003/04 Alexander again confounded the critics by coaching the Imps to another play-off position, this time losing to eventual winners Huddersfield Town. Alexander, one of the very few black managers in the Football League, had a very serious brain injury (a cerebral aneurysm) halfway through the season, but made a full recovery. In the 2004-05 season they again qualified for the Play-Offs, for a third year running, in the semi final Lincoln beat Macclesfield Town 2-1 on aggregate over two legs but lost in the final against Southend United 2-0 after extra time.

In the 2005-06 season Lincoln City again reached the playoffs when many fans and critics beleived that they would finish in the mid table after losing 11 of their best players from the previous 3 campaigns. The Imps finished 7th in League 2 after only losing 3 games since the new year. Lincoln were to face local neighbours Grimsby Town in the play-offs, a side they had beaten 5-0 at Sincil Bank earlier in the season. However, once again it was not to be, as Lincoln lost 3-1 on aggregate to become the first team ever to lose four consecutive play-off competitions.

Keith Alexander left his position as manager of Lincoln City by mutual consent on May 24th 2006

德国《wupp》开头的业余联赛队是什么城市的,请尽量详细介绍!感谢!

Wuppertaler SV Borussia,全名Wuppertaler Sport-Verein Borussia e.V. 昵称Die Löwen (The Lions,狮子)

Wuppertaler SV is a German football club located in Wuppertal, Nordrhein-Westfalen. The city was founded in 1929 out of the union of a number of smaller towns including Elberfeld, Barmen, Vohwinkel, Cronenburg, and Ronsdorf – each with its own football club. Wuppertal SV was formed in 1954 out of the merger TSG Vohwinkel and SSV Wuppertal. The union paid almost immediate dividends as the combined side played its way into the top-flight Oberliga West after just one season.

WSV spent most of the rest of the 50's and on into the 60's as a second division side. The club returned to the Oberliga West in 1962, but their late success was not enough to earn them selection as one of sixteen clubs which formed the Bundesliga, Germany's new professional league, in 1963. They continued to perform well through the course of the decade, advancing to the semi-final of the 1964 German Cup, and regularly finishing in the top half of the league table.

After winning the Regionalliga West in 1972 Die Löwen were promoted to the Bundesliga for a three year stint. Their first season in the upper league was their most successful. While they never seriously challenged eventual champions Bayern Munich, newly promoted WSV spent five weeks in second place before finally settling for a fourth place finish. The club also played in the UEFA Cup tournament going out 6:8 on aggregate (1:4, 5:4) to Polish side Ruch Chorzow. After their turn in the Bundesliga Wuppertal spent four seasons in the second tier 2.Bundesliga before playing for a dozen seasons in the Amateur Oberliga Nordrhein (III). A series of strong finishes in the late 80's eventually led to a return to the 2.Bundesliga for the 1993 and 1994 seasons before relegation once again to third tier football in the Regionalliga West/Südwest.

Logos of predecessor sides SSV Wuppertal and TSG Vohwinkel, and recent partner Borussia Wuppertal. The club had a close brush with bankruptcy in 1998 and the next season was sent down to the Oberliga Nordrhein (IV) for failing to pay their dues. By 2003 they had earned a return to the Regionalliga Nord (III) where they play today.

In 2004 the club merged with Borussia Wuppertal to become SV Wuppertal Borussia. Borussia had been formed in 1976 through the union of SV Germania 1907 Wuppertal and VfL 1912 Wuppertal.

英格兰业余北区的Vauxhall Motors

有吗?

Vauxhall Motors F.C. 昵称:The Motormen。位于柴郡(Cheshire)的埃尔斯米尔港(Ellesmere Port)。埃尔斯米尔港人口 64,100。

球队历史:

Vauxhall Motors were founded in 1963, shortly after the opening of the new Vauxhall Motors car plant in Ellesmere Port, in Cheshire. Early on in their history, they played in the Ellesmere Port League and the Wirral Combination, but they soon grew too strong for those leagues. By 1970 the club had achieved several promotions and played on the company-owned Hooton Park. By 1987 however, they had opened their own ground, Rivacre Park, where the club currently plays today. The opening of the new ground was especially important as then England manager Bobby Robson brought a number of former international stars for the opening game.

On the pitch, the club also started finding some success, winning their first West Cheshire League championship in the 1985-86 season. Soon after, they reached their first Cheshire Amateur Cup and triumphed in the Wirral Senior Cup. These accomplishments did not go unnoticed, as they successfully applied to join the North West Counties League for the 1987-88 season. They easily won the league's Second Division in their first season, and finished fourth in the First Division in the following. Despite expectations to challenge for the league title the next season, the team only finished fifth, but won the Northwest Counties League Cup in the process, defeating Darwen by a score of 2-0.

Soon after their fifth place finish, the board took the decision to move back to the West Cheshire League where the club finished in third the two following seasons. However, in 1994-95, the club won both division of the league for only the third time in the 103-year history of the league. Soon after, they were accepted back into the Northwest Counties League. Just as before, they easily won the Second Division of the NWCL, but didn't have the best of seasons in Division One, although they did reach the semi-final of the Cheshire Senior Cup. They continued to play in Division One, and reached the final of the NWCL Cup, losing to Kidsgrove Athletic in a closely contested match.

The 1998-99 season was by far the team's best so far, reaching the Fifth Round of the FA Vase, earned their best ever league position in third place, and won the NWCL Cup. However, the next season was even better, with the team reaching the semi-finals of the FA Vase and romping to the NWCL title, thus earning them a spot in the Unibond League Division 1. The reserves also enjoyed a successful season, winning a number of smaller trophies.

The club enjoyed considerable success in the UniBond League as well, earning promotion to the Unibond Premier Division in just one season and finishing a spectacular second place in the league. They continued to play well, with their high point coming when they defeated then Nationwide Division Two (now Coca-Cola League One) side QPR in their first appearance in the FA Cup First Round proper rubbish before losing in the next round in a televised match against Macclesfield Town. The season after, they hired manager Owen Brown and they earned promotion to the Nationwide Conference North, where they currently play.

Best League Position: 15th, Nationwide Conference North, 2004-2005
Best FA Cup performance: 2nd Round proper, 2003-2004
Best FA Trophy performance: 4th Round proper, 2001-2002
Best FA Vase Performance: Semi-Finals, 1999-2000

球场介绍:

Rivacre Park has been the home of since the 1980s having formerly played at Hooton Park. It has a capacity of 2,500 with covered stand and terracing, with space for 250 seated guests. There are plans being made to improve the ground to Conference standards. The retrofitting will take place before the kickoff of the 2006/2007 season
